Schoellerbank supports "Institute for Gender and Diversity Activism in Jazz and Popular Music".

JAM MUSIC LAB Private University thanks Schoellerbank for its support of the "Institute for Gender and Diversity Activism in Jazz and Popular Music".

The "Institute for Gender and Diversity Activism in Jazz and Popular Music" pursues the goal of promoting gender equality in music in a concrete and sustainable way. It supports projects in cooperation with other educational institutions, such as Austria's regional music schools, selected compulsory and general secondary schools, private and public music schools and universities, festivals, clubs, journalists, event organizers and stakeholders from the media and the music industry.
The institute is directed against the fundamental and in all areas of jazz and popular music recognizable grievance that the proportion of women, apart from the field of singing, is shockingly low in all instrumental disciplines, in music production and in the music industry. Despite the socio-politically highly relevant aspects of this topic, this fact is largely unnoticed and there are hardly any noticeable counter initiatives to this undesirable development.
