Jazz drummer, composer/producer and three-time Grammy winner Terri Lyne Carrington publishes New Standards: 101 Lead Sheets By Women Composers, by Berklee Press/Hal Leonard and curated by Carrington, out Sept. 15.
Though women have always played a leading role as jazz performers, they have seldom gotten the credit they deserve as writers. Carrington attempts to right that wrong with her new release which also includes a composition of JAM MUSIC LAB professor Monika Herzig.
