JAM saxophone student Madeleine Kaindl wins Ö1 Jazz Scholarship
JAM student Madeleine Kaindl wins Ö1 scholarship for a two-year master study in Jazz at JAM MUSIC LAB Private University.
The scholarship was awarded already for the fourth time in 2021 at the "Ö1 Jazz Day" on April 30 as part of a concert evening broadcast live at the "Stockwerk" in Graz.
Madeleine Kaindl studied jazz saxophone at the Anton Bruckner Private University there (with Harry Sokal), at the MUK Vienna (with Andy Middleton) and at JAM MUSIC LAB (with Thomas Kugi) from 2010. In Vienna, Madeleine has also tested her talents as a tenor and alto saxophonist as well as a vocalist in several bands of her own. She convinced the jury, consisting of guitarist Wolfgang Muthspiel, U.S. producer Jeffrey Levenson (Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz, Washington D.C.) and Ö1 jazz editor Andreas Felber, a.o. through her current trio project "Autobiography" with pianist Katarina Kochetova and drummer Matti Felber.
