Yes, you can create your individual schedule based on the curriculum and adjust it to your work schedule. Our Student Services team will assist and advise you.

A typical week for first-semester students consists of several theoretical courses such as "Theory of Jazz and Popular Music" and "Ear Training & Solfeggio," practical courses like "Improvisation" and "Stage Band," as well as a weekly individual lesson lasting 75 minutes.

Many events are organized to encourage musical growth: monthly jam sessions, “Town Hall” meetings, semester parties, and much more.

There is a student residence at the Gasometer where you can rent a room with an attractive all-in package.

YES – you have the opportunity to practice for free almost all day on campus. You simply book your room through our online system. Happy practicing!

Absolutely – we support all talented musicians regardless of their stylistic background.

The focus of the entrance exam is on your instrumental skills. After passing the admission, a placement test for music theory will be held at the beginning of the semester.

The Bachelor of Arts in Music Education degree with Bass as the main subject ensures that you garner of a diverse range of qualifications necessary for your future career as an educator:

  • A professional level of proficiency with your main instrument
  • The concepts of methodology and didactics in the fields of Jazz and Popular Music 
  • Ability in undertaking scientific research and reflection in relation with music education, as well as with creative processes, i.e. artistic research
  • Social competence in communication, project planning and in the areas of marketing and management

The learning engagements consist of weekly lessons and lectures in the main subject, as well as in compulsory and free-choice electives: Stage Bands, Improvisation, Rhythmical Training, Music Theory, Didactics, Methodology, Teaching Practice, Lesson Observation, Music Business and more.
