Arts for Health - International Online Seminars Part 1

On the 24th and 25th of November the first part of the two-part series "Arts for Health - International Online Seminars" takes place via Zoom. 

Arts for Health is a global movement that has opened up a rapidly growing international research and professional area for musicians, dancers, artists, as well as medical experts. Our weekend seminars offer compact training, information, and the latest know-how in the areas of:

• ARTS & HEALTH (Edith Wolf Perez)

• MUSIC & BRAIN (Oliver Peter Graber)

• MOVEMENT (DANCE) & HEALTH (Katy Geertsen)

GENERAL INFORMATION

The event is hosted by three specialists in the field of Arts for Health who also hold leading positions in the association ARTS for HEALTH Austria (AfHA).

Edith Wolf Perez 

is a dancer, author, and arts & health expert. She is the editor of "Arts and Health – Austria in the international context" (transkript publishing house), a co-founder, and chairwoman of "ARTS for HEALTH AUSTRIA".

Katy Geertsen 

is a dance artist, a licensed Dance for Parkinson trainer, and an arts & health expert. She is a co-founder of "ARTS for HEALTH AUSTRIA".

Oliver Peter Graber 

is the head of the "Research Institute for Music Medicine with a special focus on Arts for Health" at the JAM MUSIC LAB Private University Vienna, the dean of this university's faculty of music, and the deputy chair of "ARTS for HEALTH AUSTRIA". He is a composer, pianist, dramaturge, and researcher in the field of neuro- music theory.

Targeting topics such as "Arts For Health", "music and the brain", "neuroplasticity", "Dance for Health" and "dance for Parkinson" the hosts as well as the JAM MUSIC LAB University invite professionals (musicians, dancers, artists, health professionals) and amateurs interested in this field.

Saturday, 25.11.2023 10.00-13.00 (CET) – Edith Wolf Perez: "Arts for Health" – definition, goals, social prescribing, best practices in Austria.

Saturday, 25.11.2023 14.00-17.00 (CET) – Katy Geertsen: "Dance for Health" – theory, goals, dance for Parkinson, movements.

Friday, 19.01.2024 18.00-21.00 (CET) – Oliver Peter Graber: "Music & Brain" – digital Arts for Health, piano and brain health, AI – music – healthcare.

Saturday, 20.01.2024 10.00-13.00 (CET) – Edith Wolf Perez: "Arts for Health" – best practices in Europe, policy recommendations, best practice examples internationally.

Saturday, 20.01.2024 14.00-17.00 (CET) – Katy Geertsen: "Dance for Wellbeing" – practical aspects, theory, goals, movements.

The event can be booked together with follow up event - which is taking place on the 19th and 20th of January - as well as individually.
